Spintronics exerting spin angular momentum pioneered a novel research field exerting metallic and semiconducting materials in early days. In this century, spin current in addition to spin-polarized current plays a dominant role in spintronics and a number of novel physical phenomena that enables big progress in condensed matter physics has been discovered. In the recent decade, spintronics is further extending its field and establishes fusion domains with superconductivity, topology, chirality, low-dimensional material science possessing symmetry breaking and physics of orbital angular momentum, which helps constructing new pathways towards modern spintronics.

In this talk, I introduce some of our recent activities in line with the progress of modern spintronics, with focusing on spin physics of a layered superconductor [1,2], a two-dimensional carrier system [3,4] and orbital transport [5].
