【Abstract】
We discuss recent theoretical developments in regard to two different classes of quantum materials. First, we present a theory of multipolar ordering phenomena in the Kondo material with a non-Kramers doublet, Pr(TM)2Al20 [1]. Secondly, we provide a theory of quantum spin liquid phase in the newly discovered Kitaev material, the hydrogen-intercalated honeycomb iridate, H3LiIr2O6 [2].
Possible avenues for future research in these systems will be discussed.
