Ultrahigh magnetic field research exceeding 100 T has advanced rapidly, yielding insights into phase transitions and superconductivity. However, challenges to the issue of electromagnetic noise and shock waves due to the destructive magnetic field generation remain. ISSP has been developing electromagnetic flux compression and single-turn coil methods for over 50 years, leading the field alongside France’s LNCMI-Toulouse. Global collaboration, especially with Toulouse, is crucial for further progress. In 2024, ISSP researchers visited Toulouse for exchanges, and a workshop this year at ISSP will strengthen collaboration. These efforts aim to expand applications of ultrahigh magnetic fields to new research areas.
