Correlated Quantum Materials + beyond: Symposium

Date : Monday, November 25th, 2024 - Tuesday, November 26th, 2024 Place : Lecture Room (A632), 6th Floor, ISSP Committee Chair : Hirokazu Tsunetsugu (ISSP), Yukitoshi Motome (Univ. Tokyo), Yoichi Yanase (Kyoto Univ.), Junya Otsuki (Okayama Univ.), Yusuke Nomura (Tohoku Univ.), and Yoshihiko Okamoto (ISSP)Language in Speech : English

This symposium is part of the ISSP Theory mini-Workshop, “Correlated Quantum Materials + beyond” (CQM+b2024), which will be held from November 18th to 29th, 2024 at ISSP.  The symposium will feature presentations on the up-to-date both theoretical and experimental achivements  in strongly correlated systems,  accompanied by intensive discussions aimed at gaining new perspectives on the feature of this field.

Strongly correlated systems serve as a  playground where the charge and spin degrees of freedom of electron and also ionic ones are entangled to each other, and this entanglement leads to a variety of novel phenomena including exotic spin liquids, unconventional superconductivity, and topological quantum orders.  This symposium will also explore the application of data science approaches, such as machine learning, to this area of research.  A poster session will be scheduled on the 1st day.  All the presentations will be given in English including posters.

For more details and information on application, please visit the symposium’s web page from HERE.
