Li Qifang(D1, Nakatsuji Group) awarded English Lecture Award of JSAP
Mr. Li Qifang(D1) from Nakatsuji Group) awarded English Lecture Award of JSAP. This award is given to the best presentations in each category among the student speakers who gave English lectures at the Japan Society of Applied Physics Spintronics Study Group.
The presentation title was “Monte Carlo Simulation of Magnetic Behaviors of Ferromagnet with Long-range Interaction”.
Non-trivial geometric phases in band structure endow topological materials with dazzling properties, like anomalous Hall effect. Nakatsuji group is devoting to invent apparatuses to commercialize the novel topological effects. To enhance the performance of apparatus, proper configuration of spins in ferromagnet is expected.
Mr. Li studies to simulate the spin configurations in ferromagnet with Monte-Carlo algorithm. For ferromagnet with long-range dipole-dipole interaction (DDI), stochastic cutoff (SCO) algorithm reduces the time complexity dramatically. Thanks to insightful instruction from MIYASHITA group (ISSP, Dept. Phys.), he combined coarse-graining (CG) algorithm and SCO algorithm to simplify the simulated systems. Both the time complexity are reduced and inversely proportional to grain volume. This new method shows robustness and accuracy at low temperatures.
