Centrifugal Immersion Pump

At the Cryogenic service Lab.,the most important part of supplying liquid helium more than 170,000 litters a year is the Centrifugal immersion pump. (Centrifugal immersion pump :Product of the LINDE) About 10 machine is exist, two of them are placed in Japan, which is University of Hokkaido and here in ISSP University of Tokyo. Usually, to draw Liquid Helium is to pressurize in the tank and use the difference of pressure. It takes long time to draw Liquid Helium. Then,at the year of 1996, centrifugal immersion pump was introduced with renewal of liquefier. It used to took about 1hour to draw 100 litters, but using this pump took only 10minutes to draw 100 litters. That is 1/6 of conventional way.
