Hybrids of Thermosensitive Microgels and Metallic Nanoparticles


Short autobiography:

Matthias Ballauff studied chemistry at the University of Mainz and got his PhD in the Department of Physical Chemistry in 1981. Then he worked as a postdoc in the group of Prof. P. J. Flory at Stanford University. From 1986 to 1990 he was research associate in the Max-Planck-Institute for Polymer Research in Mainz. He then when to the University of Karlsruhe as a full professor of polymer science. From 2003 to 2009 he was a professor of physical chemistry at the University of Bayreuth. Since 2009 he works at the Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin and holds a chair of experimental physics at the Humboldt University Berlin. He is one of the regional editors of “Polymer”.
