  • Access from Narita Airport to ISSP

    There are several ways for the access from Narita Airport to ISSP. All the routes are via Kashiwa station. For the access from Kashiwa station to ISSP, see below. The best way from Narita Airport to Kashiwa station depends on how much time you have, the cost you may pay, what time you arrive, etc. You find information of Narita Airport including ground transportation and maps of both terminal 1 and 2, on the homepage of Narita Airport here (click "Terminal Guide" for maps).

    (when you have time; sometimes the limousine gets late, but this is the easiest way)

    (1) Keisei Limousine:
    Bus ticket desk for "Keisei Limousine" on arrival lobby at 1F. It costs 1700yen.
    When you are in terminal 1, go to Bus stop 1.
    When you are in terminal 2, go to Bus stop 12.
    Get off at "Kashiwa Station West Exit".

    Route2:
    (when you want to be punctual)

    [Narita Airport station]--(Keisei railway/ "Sky Liner"(1), 56min., or Limited Express(2), 73min.)--[Nippori station]--(JR Joban line(3) / 25min.) --[Kashiwa station] -- (see below(4)) -- [ISSP]

    (1) Keisei "Sky Liner" : You need a special ticket for this express. It costs 1920yen including seat reservation.
    (2)
    Keisei railway Limited Express ("Tok-Kyuu" in Japansese) : Train fee is 1000 yen (regular fee). Don't take the "usual" Express train ("Kai-Soku" in Japanese). It takes more than 2 h.
    (3)
    JR Joban line (either Rapid or Regular) for Toride via Abiko. Train fee is 450yen.

    Route3:
    (when you want to save money, when you like trains, or when you are familiar with Japanese railway system)

    [Narita Airport station]--(JR Narita line(1), 11min.)--[Narita station] --(JR Narita line(2), 43min.)--[Abiko station]--(JR Joban line(3) / 4min.) --[Kashiwa station] -- (see below(4)) -- [ISSP]

    (1) Buy a JR ticket to Kashiwa : train fee is 820yen. Take JR railway Narita line for Tokyo via Chiba. Change train at Narita station ("Narita Airport station" and "Narita station" are different).
    (2)
    JR railway Narita Line (same name as (1), but different line !) for Abiko (change train at Abiko station), or for Ueno via Abiko, Nippori (no need to change train at Abiko station).
    (3) JR Joban line for Ueno via Kitasenju (either Rapid or Regular).
    (4) Please see below for the access from Kashiwa station to ISSP

    Route4:
    (almost the same as Route3, but you need to walk to change train at Narita station)

    [Narita Airport station]--(Keisei Line(1), 9min.)--[Keisei Narita station]--(Walk, 4min.) -- [Narita station]--(JR Narita Line(2), 43min.)--[Abiko station]--(JR Joban Line(3), 4min.)--[Kashiwa station] -- (see below(4)) -- [ISSP]

    (1) Keisei railway for Ueno or Nishi-Magome (either Limited Express, Express, or Regular). Train fee is 250yen.
    (2)
    Buy a JR ticket to Kashiwa : train fee is 650yen. Narita Line for Abiko (change train at Abiko station), or for Ueno via Abiko, Nippori (no need to change train at Abiko station).
    (3) JR Joban line for Ueno via Kitasenju (either Rapid or Regular).

  • Access from Kashiwa station to ISSP

    Route1: (please don't use this when you're in a hurry; in the rush hours, it takes about 30 min.)

    [Kashiwa station]--(bus)--[ISSP]

    Tobu Bus bound for National Cancer Center ("Kokuritsu Gan Sentaa" in Japanese) from the bus stop #2 in the west exit bus terminal. Get off at University of Tokyo ("Todai Mae") bus stop or National Cancer Center ("Kokuritsu Gan Sentaa") bus stop. Bus fee is 280 yen. ISSP is just in front of you.

    Route2: (when you don't have time)

    [Kashiwa station]--(Tobu Noda line(1), 9 min.)--[Edogawa-dai station] --(taxi(2), approx 5min.)--[ISSP]

    (1) One station by Tobu Noda line bound for Ohmiya. Train fee is 190 yen.
    (1) Approximately 1000 yen by taxi.

    Route3: (when you are rich)

    [Kashiwa station]--(taxi)--[Edogawa-dai station]

    Approximately 3,000 yen by taxi.



  • Access from Tokyo station to ISSP

    Route1:

    [Tokyo station]--(JR Yama-no-Te-line(1) / uchimawari, 6min.)--[Ueno station]--(JR Joban Line(2), 29min.) --[Kashiwa station] -- (see above(3)) -- [ISSP]

    (1) Buy a JR ticket to Kashiwa. Train fee is 540yen.
    (2)
    JR Joban Line for Toride via Abiko (either Rapid or Regular).

    Route2:

    [Tokyo station]--(JR/Tobu Highway Bus) --[ISSP]

    From Tokyo Station: Yaesu Side - South Exit. JR/Tobu Highway Bus bound for Kashiwanoha Park / Edogawadai from the Bus Stop #2 in the Yaesu Highway-bus Terminal. Tickets are sold at the ticket booth at the Bus Terminal. It takes approximately 40 minutes- 1 hour. Get off at National Cancer Center ("Kokuritsu Gan Sentaa" in Japanese) bus stop, which is the first bus stop after departing from Tokyo Station. Bus fee is 800 yen. ISSP is just in front of you.
