Worm algorithm and its applications

I will discuss the basic idea of updating the configuration space of closed loops by using end points of one open loop. I will present a complete derivation for the Ising model, and explain how the same strategy works in other classical and quantum statistical models. It has been successfully used to study spin, interacting bosonic and fermionic systems, both in the lattice and continuous spaces.
