Neutron Diffraction Camera
Instrumental Overview
NDC is planned to be installed at the guide line T1-4-2 of thermal neutrons. Two kinds of
the cameras are set at the experimental station ,to be a neutron weissenberg camera and a
neutron oscillation one as shown in Fig.1.
The incident neutron beams are focused on the detector-sheet of the camera by using
monochromators of pyrolytic graphite, Si, Ge, and Cu crystals. One of the detectors
is a thermo-lumino one, of which sheet is made of
( BaSO4: Er,Cl-10B2O3 ) compunds having an efficient thermal luminosity for thermal
and cold neutrons. The thermo-lumino sheet is useful for the neutron diffraction
camera because of flexibility, negligible fadding, and re-cyclical usability. The
other detector is an imaging plate.
