  The Institute for Solid State Physics (ISSP) was founded in 1957 as a national joint-research institute in the field of condensed matter physics and materials science. The faculties participate in the following departments of the graduate school of the University of Tokyo: Department of Physics, Department of Chemistry in Graduate School of Science; Department of Applied Physics in Graduate School of Engineering; or Department of Advanced Materials Science, Department of Complexity Science and Engineering in Graduate School of Frontier Sciences.
  To become a graduate student in ISSP, it is required to enroll in one of the above graduate schools. Please visit “Graduate Schools” to check which graduate school your potential supervisor belongs to.
